After washing and rinsing, any water left on fruit and veggie surfaces can lead to problems in the containers and packages.

Excessive water droplets can weaken cardboard and paper containers, and also create conditions for mold and mildew during shipment and storage. This remaining moisture can also interfere with stickers applied directly to outer fruit skins on apples, etc.

Maxum’s Patented Nozzle Bar® Air Devices were installed with a Maxumizer® Air Blower to remove any remaining droplets from these grape tomatoes to speed up production and prepare them for packaging.

Successful air blow-off with Nozzle Bar technology resulted in faster production and increased customer satisfaction with product quality.

real Life Applications

Blow-off excess liquid from peeled pomegranate seeds

Pomegranite seeds can form clumps and piles when mechanically peeled and stripped. The piles and clumps create pockets or pools of excess water/juice on the conveyors. Gently separating these clumps and removing the excess liquid without damaging the seeds is beneficial to the conveyorized processing.

A customer replaced their older “fan” style blower with a Maxumizer® Air Blower and a series of Maxumizer® Air Knives. Multiple air knives were used one after another to gently move the seed “clumps” around and push the excess liquid off the surfaces where it could drain through the conveyor mesh.
