Blow-off Moisture Droplets After Steam Tunnels, to Speed Up Very Popular “Shrink Sleeve” Production Packaging Lines
Customers use steam tunnels to shrink plastic sleeves on filled bottles and containers.
Depending on the container size, style, and contents, the containers with sleeves might still remain wet after exiting the steam tunnel. This remaining moisture can interfere with inkjet/bar code application, and wet containers can cause real issues with the cardboard boxes used to package and ship the finished products.
Maxumizer® Air Knives were installed to blow-off any remaining droplets from the containers and prepare them for batch coding and packaging.
The Result
Successful air blow-off resulted in better batch/date coding, and reduced shipping problems caused by wet cardboard containers.
