A Wine Producer Eliminated Foil Defects and Label Failures Using Patented Nozzle Bar® Air Devices
Wine packaging is as much a part of the product as what is inside the bottle. Most wine makers and bottlers invest heavily in premium labels and foil crown wrappers to deliver a finished bottle that stands out on the shelf. For one wine producer, that investment was being undermined by a problem earlier on the bottling production line: excess wine left on cork tops was causing bubbles and blisters in the foil crown wrap, compromising the presentation of every finished bottle.

The Maxum Solution for Bottle Finishing Lines
Two Nozzle Bar® Air Devices were added at separate points on the finishing line to address moisture at each critical stage. The first was installed to blow off excess wine from cork tops before the foil wrap was applied. The second, using longer Nozzle Bar devices, was positioned after the foil and immediately before the main bottle labels were applied.
The Nozzle Bar® patented nozzle design delivers precise, high-velocity airflow that removes surface moisture without disturbing the foil or label. Positioning blow-off at both stages ensured clean, dry surfaces at every point where adhesion and presentation matter most.
The Result
Bubbles and blisters in the foil crown wrap were eliminated. Bottle labels applied cleanly and consistently, and finished bottles met the presentation standard the wine maker required. The result was improved product quality and customer satisfaction across every run.
